DAY 1: Introduction, Daily Choices, and Consequences
The first lesson demonstrates how choices, even daily ones, can have different consequences. All decisions lead to short or long term consequences, which can be either negative or positive. In this lesson, youth are presented with various scenarios. The lesson will help youth think about each decision’s outcome and determine whether or not to continue with the scenario.

DAY 2: Media Influence
Advertisers use techniques such as peer pressure, appearance, sexual messages, etc. In this lesson, students identify these techniques on the interactive DVD “Sneaks.” Then they get the opportunity to create their own commercials. They use the same techniques as professional advertisers. Students learn that advertising exists for a reason, and that viewers should always think about the real message of each advertisement.

DAY 3: Puberty, Anatomy, and the Brian
The message from today explains puberty and what happens in the body and brain. There are facts and helpful hints given through a fun cartoon about puberty and proper body care.

DAY 4: Risky Behaviors and Refusal Skills
This lesson demonstrates how risky behaviors such as smoking, drinking, or sex before marriage can lead to emotional, physical, mental, and social consequences. Through the interactive DVD, youth can choose scenarios to see what could happen to the characters involved. These scenarios show the outcomes and students discuss the possible negative consequences that can come from each risky behavior. This lesson also teaches practical refusal skills to students. If a student is in a bad situation, he or she can use the refusal skills to get out of that situation.

DAY 5: Boundaries, Limits, and Closure
The message from today is to help students prepare before they get caught in certain negative situations. This lesson will help give students the tools they need to stand up for themselves against pressure and other negative influences. They are given information on how to stay away from negative situations in the first place.
